Homosonus

As humans, we are born with spatial awareness and a strong sense of personal space. Yet intimacy is something we can never escape from. Be it physical or mental, there is always inevitable tension between people. This is known as human 'interstice' - that inexplicable wordless space that exists between us.

What if we could make people 'feel' this invisible interstice by means of sound ?

Homosonus is an interactive sound installation exhibited at the inaugural 2016 Betwixt Festival at Art Science Musuem. It allows visitors to experience distinct sounds they generate with a complete stranger they see faintly behind the thin frosted wall, making them wonder about this transient fleeting moment of contact.
